Through four generations our family has provided the finest homemade Italian foods for patrons in the area. During the 1930's and 1940's, our family's home gained a reputation as a friendly meeting place where many first generation Italian-Americans visited for hospitable conversation and great food.
Expanding this home cooked foods tradition in the 1950's, the patriarch of our family, Johnny "Barrels" (a nickname acquired due to his legendary ability to drink a barrel of beer) and my mother Jenny Franco opened a corner bar and restaurant in the heart of South Philadelphia. Word of the quality food and friendly atmosphere quickly spread throughout the city as our business grew into one of the leading food establishments in the city.
Barrels Fine Food offers our patrons the ability for in-house dining, delivery, private catering, and corporate catering programs. Please review the wide variety of fine homemade Italian foods offered in our menu.
Our foods reflect a combined influence of our family's old world Italian recipes with evolving American flavors and tastes. All of our dishes are prepared to order using the freshest ingredients available. Today, over forty years later, our family continues to provide many of our original dishes along with several new.
